A Virginia native with Appalachian roots, Derek Barlow has been helping folks creatively finance homes since 2016. Having graduated from Virginia Tech with dual degrees in Food Science and Microbiology, Derek applies his analytical mind to mortgage banking by providing an exceptional level of detail & creativity to his client’s finances. When working with Derek, you can expect thorough, patient guidance in a high-touch environment delivered with a dash of Southern hospitality. He sees the people he works with as neighbors, not just a client. By cutting his teeth in the highly competitive DC, VA, & MD real estate market, he has become an expert in jumbo and VA (Veterans Affairs) financing. Longing for a life full of outdoor adventure (and to be reunited with the mountains), Derek now lives in Denver, CO with his two daughters, Avery and Vivienne. His interests include dad jokes, country music, hiking, fishing, hunting, mushroom foraging, cooking, video gaming, traveling, autism advocacy, and a good late-night TikTok scroll.
