First Heritage Mortgage Named one of the Best Mortgage Companies to Work For in National Ranking 4 Years Running

FHM has been recognized in the National Mortgage News list each year since it started the program.

FAIRFAX, Va. — First Heritage Mortgage (FHM) was named to the 2022 Best Mortgage Companies to Work For rankings by National Mortgage News for the fourth year in a row. The awards program is designed to recognize lenders that support their team and to provide them with employee feedback. FHM is proud to continue to be recognized as one of the top mortgage employers in the nation, having made the list every year since it was launched by National Mortgage News in 2018.

This achievement showcases the result of efforts that all FHM employees put into their work every day. It’s also a testament to how team members across the company collaborate to support one another, streamline internal processes, and reach the common goal of offering an exceptional customer experience.

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve our customer and employee experience,” said Banks Gatchel, President at First Heritage Mortgage. “A lot of credit for this recognition goes to how we naturally work together and support each other across all groups and departments within the company.”

The Best Mortgage Companies to Work For program is a partnership between National Mortgage News and the Best Companies Group, which conducts extensive employee surveys and reviews employer reports on benefits and policies. The employee survey covers eight topics: Leadership and Planning; Corporate Culture and Communications; Role Satisfaction; Work Environment; Relationship with Supervisor; Training, Development and Resources; Pay and Benefits; and Overall Engagement. Only the top 50 lenders in the U.S. are awarded the “Best Mortgage Companies to Work For” title.

FHM also celebrated several other milestones over the past year, including celebrating its 25th anniversary and originating $3.49 billion in mortgage loan closings – an 88.6% increase from 2020. The company opened two new branches in Greenville, SC and Tampa, FL as well. FHM has been a leading correspondent mortgage lender for 25 years and is on a mission to expand its footprint across the country, currently lending in 13 states and Washington, D.C.
