The Maryland Mortgage Bankers and Brokers Association honored 26 outstanding mortgage professionals at its 2026 Annual Conference in Annapolis — five of whom call First Heritage Mortgage home.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — First Heritage Mortgage is proud to announce that five of its loan officers have been named 2026 Top Maryland Loan Originators by the Maryland Mortgage Bankers and Brokers Association (MMBBA). The recognition was presented on May 5, 2026, at the MMBBA Annual Conference in Annapolis, Maryland — one of the state’s premier gatherings of mortgage industry leaders, lenders, brokers, and advocates.

The five First Heritage Mortgage honorees are:

  • Samantha Bowie
  • Ramez M. Fahmy
  • Paul Harsanyi
  • Jeffrey A. Novotny Jr.
  • Todd Pede

These five professionals were among 26 exceptional loan originators from MMBBA member companies receiving recognition for their outstanding service and leadership across Maryland’s mortgage industry. Mortgage technology company RETR was the sponsor of the Top Loan Originator Awards.

First Heritage Mortgage President Steven Lagana applauded the team’s achievement:

“This recognition is a true reflection of the dedication, integrity, and heart that Samantha, Ramez, Paul, Jeffrey, and Todd bring to their work every day,” Lagana remarked. “They don’t just close loans, they guide families through one of the most significant decisions of their lives. Being honored by the MMBBA alongside the best in Maryland is a testament to the standard they hold themselves to, and it makes the entire First Heritage Mortgage family incredibly proud.”

The MMBBA Annual Conference also featured timely discussions on housing market trends, economic forecasts, and the evolving mortgage landscape, providing industry professionals with insights and connections to better serve Maryland homebuyers.

First Heritage Mortgage congratulates all 26 of this year’s Top Maryland Loan Originators and thanks the MMBBA for its continued commitment to recognizing excellence across the state’s mortgage community.
