Hi, my name is Billy Stephens, and I couldn’t be more excited to join the amazing team here at First Heritage Mortgage! Prior to joining First Heritage Mortgage, I had been growing my business at C&F Mortgage for the past four years, which gave me a great foundation for taking this next step in my loan officer career path.

After leaving a 20-year career in the remodeling and construction industry, I joined the mortgage world in January of 2022. At the time, rates were quickly skyrocketing, home prices were also soaring, and the real estate and mortgage world was in a state of chaos. I was new to the business and only knew enough to be dangerous. But the good news was that I also only knew hard work, how to treat my customers with the highest level of customer service possible, and how to go find business instead of waiting for it to come to me. These were the integral things that have allowed me to survive this crazy mortgage market that we have been dealing with over the past 4 years.

And just a little background about me….I was the Sales Manager and eventually the Vice President at Artistic Stone Design in Richmond, VA, for 14 years prior to entering the mortgage world. Before that, I had spent my first 6 years out of college working for Thos. Somerville Company, learning the ins and outs of the plumbing, heating, and air conditioning trades. Through these previous jobs, I had the opportunity to work alongside many great realtors, builders, and retail clients in Richmond, which made the transition into the mortgage world a smooth one since I already had a great base of referral partners.

I am a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where I majored in business management and administration in 2003, and before that, I was a graduate of Midlothian High School in 1997. I currently live in Midlothian, VA, and have a beautiful 4-year-old daughter (Layla Mae Stephens)

When I am not actively helping people get prequalified for a mortgage, I can be found hunting, fishing, singing, traveling, or socializing with friends!
